Park & Ride Free

If you'd like to avoid the traffic hassles and parking headaches in Delaware's resort areas, use DART First State's Park & Ride Lot located on Shuttle Rd. off of Delaware Rt. 1., north of Rehoboth Avenue.

Park for $8.00 and you'll receive up to four (4) free unlimited ride daily bus passes. All buses are air conditioned and equipped with wheelchair lifts. Ride in comfort on DART First State buses to the outlets, the boardwalk and beaches, even into Dewey Beach, Lewes, Long Neck or Ocean City, MD. With bus stops conveniently located throughout the resort area, you won't need to worry about where to park or how to get from one place to another.

Family Day at the Beach Bargain

Two Adults with two children (46 inches or less in height) ride round trip to the Beach on Route 305 Beach Connection for only $44.00!

Attention Employers!

DART First State continues to offer a discounted employee parking program during the summer for both seasonal and year-round employees. Employees are eligible, through their employer, to receive a substantially discounted parking rate of $4, which applies only during the employee's scheduled work hours, and they must display a hangtag on their rear view mirror. Hangtags are available for pick up by employers only at the Park & Ride office weekdays, 8 am to 5 pm. Please bring a business card or other form of ID. Call 302.226.2001 a day in advance to have tags ready when you arrive (Important when requesting 25 or more). If an employer is located and licensed in the City of Rehoboth Beach, employees may be eligible for further discount. Call the City Manager's Office at 227.4641 for details.

Bikes on Buses

All buses are equipped with bike racks that can carry 2 bikes. Your bike rides for FREE! Passengers are responsible for loading, securing and unloading their bikes at your own risk.  Please make your bike "rack ready" by removing water bottles or any other loose items that might fall off.


Rt. 208 to Ocean City MD

Passengers can connect to the Ocean City Transit system at the 144th Street Transit Center in Ocean City. Payment of the Ocean City fare applies; $3.00 Ride-All-Day.

Ocean City riders connecting to DART First State will have to pay the DART fare of $2.00 per trip or $4.20 for a Daily Pass, which can be purchased on the bus. The Daily Pass is good for unlimited riding on that day within Sussex County, DE.

Cape May-Lewes Ferry Connection to Cape May, NJ

Passengers can board the Ferry's bus at the Park & Ride lot using DART First State bus pass for service to the Ferry terminal. The ferry's bus will take passengers directly to the Cape May Lewes Ferry Terminal, where riders can board the ferry as foot passengers to Cape May, NJ for an additional charge.


The one-way cash fare is $2.00 or ride all day with a Daily Pass for $4.20. Reduced fare for Seniors (65 and older) and Disabled is $.80 and the blind (with DVI photo ID) ride free. Children (46 inches in height or under) ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult, otherwise regular fare applies. No more than two children free per fare-paying adult.

Daily Pass and the DARTCard

As always, the best value for riding the bus is to purchase a Daily Pass. The cost of the Daily Pass is $4.20. The Daily Pass allows customers to ride any bus route in Sussex County all day long.

The DARTCard is a discounted stored value card (used just like cash) that can be purchased at DART First State Transportation stores, sales outlets, or online, and is available in seven different denominations. For an even greater discount, the DARTCard can be used to purchase a Daily Pass on the bus! DARTCards cannot be re-charged, therefore, when the value runs out, a new card has to be purchased.

Rt. 305 - Beach Connection

DART's Route 305, Beach Connection, operates from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend and provides bus service from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach on Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The Route 305 connects with the Resort Transit service at the Rehoboth Park & Ride lot. 

The Beach Connection is a comfortable motor coach that offers 45 seats, 2 wheelchair positions along with under coach storage compartments for beach gear and luggage. Please note that seating is limited, with no reserved seating.

Bus Stops

Route 305 stops at the Wilmington Train Station, Christiana Mall, Odessa Park & Ride in Middletown, Scarborough Road Park & Ride lot in Dover, and the Rehoboth Park & Ride lot.


The one-way cash fares are $13.00 from Wilmington and $7.80 from Dover. Riders are encouraged to buy a 4/5-Zone Daily Pass for $22.00, which can also be used on all the Resort Transit routes. The DARTCard can be used to purchase a 4/5-Zone Daily Pass on the bus.
